Bang on target (and schedule)


Established in 1828, Eley is now globally recognised as the manufacturer of the most consistently accurate ammunition in the world. However, for a variety of reasons the company had not revamped their brochure for some time, leading to the brand falling behind competitors in terms of look and feel. Matrix were charged with revitalising the brand through the production of a new 28pp brochure in time for a major exhibition. With a timescale of just four weeks from concept to print, this was a formidable challenge.

Matrix wanted to ensure that, as well as showcasing the complete range of cartridges, the brochure focused on the company’s heritage and appealed to a shooter’s passion for the sport. Our team therefore put together a range of iconic imagery to bring the heritage of the brand to life. Without the time or budget for a new shoot, existing imagery was retouched to enhance the look and quality.

Our Solution

Although a traditional brochure was requested by the client, Matrix was instrumental in designing the brochure in a long landscape format. This reflected both the design of the cartridge and made the very best of the existing emotive imagery. The new brochure helped reposition the brand as a market leader and positioned the product as the cartridge to use.
